DESIGNER CONTRACTS DIGS DEEP FOR CHILDLINE
Designer Contracts, the UK’s largest flooring contractor, has stepped in once more to sponsor the services of leading children’s charity ChildLine for one day.
Thursday (December 3rd 2020) marked the fourth time the company has supported the charity’s running costs for one day, the second this year. ChildLine needs £30,000 a day to operate its vital counselling services.
The company also donated a day’s running costs in April this year to help the charity with a much-needed cash injection during the pandemic, enabling it to switch its call handlers from a central facility to working from home.
Said Peter Kelsey, md at Designer Contracts: “We have sponsored the services of ChildLine for one day for the past three years. We do this on the 3rd of December as this marks our company’s formation date.
“This year has been a particularly challenging one for many charities who have faced a number of difficulties during the crisis, so we were delighted to offer our additional support.”
Said Helen Evans, philanthropy manager at ChildLine: “We are incredibly grateful to Designer Contracts for continuing to support Childline this year. Due to Covid-19 and lockdown, children have needed Childline more than ever before. It is only through the generosity of individuals and businesses such as Designer Contracts, that we are able to continue to run Childline, and support children when they need us most.
Designer Contracts, which was recently named as a finalist in the 2020 Lloyds Bank Business Awards, operates across 15 UK regional facilities. As well as flooring, the company provides curtains and blinds, furniture and lighting, and operates a showhome interior design services division.
